Your Council, Your Say

Local democracy starts close to home. Seal Parish Council is here to represent you, make decisions on local matters, and help shape the future of the community we all share.

Councillors are local people who care about where they live. They help decide how community spaces are looked after, how local funding is used, and how the council responds to issues that matter to residents. They also act as a vital link between the community and other public bodies.

Who Can Become a Councillor?

You do NOT need special qualifications or political experience to stand as a councillor. Anyone over the age of 18 who meets the eligibility criteria and has a connection to the local area can stand for election. Local electors can identify and nominate candidates at election time, helping ensure the council reflects the community it serves. Stone Street, Godden Green and Bitchet Green are not directly represented on the council. Residents from these areas are particularly encouraged to consider standing for election or getting involved in council meetings, helping to ensure that all parts of the parish have a voice.

Why Vote?

Voting in local elections allows residents to choose who represents their interests. Every vote helps strengthen local democracy and ensures decisions are made by people chosen by the community, for the community.
