Rick Bourne

Every year, Seal Parish Council presents a Community Award to recognise individuals or groups who have made a significant and positive impact within our community.

Rick Bourne has given many years of dedicated and valued service to the local community through his work with Seal Parish Council and his longstanding commitment to the residents of St Lawrence and the wider parish.

Throughout his time serving the parish, Rick has shown exceptional dedication, reliability and community spirit. He has played a central role in the oversight and ongoing stewardship of Bitchet Green Recreation Ground, helping to ensure that it remains a well-managed and valued facility for residents of all ages.

Rick has also worked closely with both St Lawrence Football Club and St Lawrence Cricket Club, providing consistent liaison and support and helping to maintain strong links between the clubs, the recreation ground and the parish council. His practical approach and willingness to assist have contributed greatly to sustaining local sport and community activity.

In addition, Rick has made a significant contribution to road safety within the parish through his involvement in the management and coordination of the parish’s Speed Indicator Display programme across six locations. His continued commitment to the local SpeedWatch Group demonstrates his genuine concern for the safety and wellbeing of residents.

Rick’s service has always been characterised by quiet dedication, practical commitment and a sincere desire to support the community. His contribution to parish life over many years has been considerable, and Seal Parish Council is pleased to recognise and thank him for all that he has done.
